Meyer Steel Drum: The obvious choice

1. Quality manufacturing

Meyer manufactures steel drums in a variety of styles and steel gauges. Every step of manufacture is quality controlled to assure meeting or surpassing all Governing Regulations. Each drum is pressure tested and visually checked. You can be sure of quality when it’s a Meyer Drum. In addition, Meyer’s high manufacturing capacity means super fast turn around on all new drum orders.

2. Reconditioning

Excellent savings can be achieved by utilizing Meyer’s complete drum reconditioning service. More than 90% of all new steel drums are reconditioned and reused.

For closed head drum reconditioning, the interior is cleaned at a series of high pressure wash and rinse stations. Pneumatic dedenting and seam restoration machinery reshape the drum. It is pressure tested for leakage in conformance with DOT requirements. In preparing the exterior, steel shot blasting remove prior coatings. New coatings are then applied and baked on for appearance and durability. Performance is then like a new drum.

In open head drum reconditioning, a reclamation furnace thermally removes the residues of the drum’s prior contents in a high temperature burner. Steel-shot blasting strips both the drum’s interior and exterior down to bare metal. The drum passes through a battery of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment that restores its shape to original specifications. Following pressure-testing, interior protective and exterior decorative coatings are applied and baked on.

3. Testing

All drums, new and reconditioned, are fully inspected and tested before leaving the Meyer plant.

They are pressure-tested for leakage in conformance with DOT (Dept. of Transportation) requirements. Meyer makes sure that every drum meets or surpasses all Federal and State regulations. This testing program is your assurance of the very finest drum service available anywhere.

4. Full Line - Steel or Plastic

In addition to Meyer manufactured steel drums; we offer a full line of drums including 85 gallon over pack drums, plastic drums, and interior linings for virtually every type of shippable product. When you need a variety of sizes and types of drums and linings, remember these benefits by ordering from Meyer: 1) One supplier saves you time; 2) Volume pricing; 3) Integrated loads - one delivery - reduces shipping costs.

5. Custom Coatings

Reap the benefits of additional market exposure by utilizing Meyer’s custom drum coatings. Company colors, product color coding, trademarks, identifi cation markings on the outside of drums are easily available to your specifications. Meyer applies impact resistant, baked enamel finishes for high visibility and resistance to rugged use.

6. Drum Disposal

One of the most complicated problems every drum user faces is that of legal and proper drum disposal. Strict Federal and State environmental regulations govern the disposal of metal drums. Even metal scrap companies will not accept drums unless they have been properly reconditioned.

Meyer completes its array of services to customers with a total disposal service. Empty drums to be disposed of are picked up by Meyer and put through the same rigid cleaning process as reconditioning. They are burned out and decontaminated. Drums are then crushed for metal recycling. Each step of the disposal process is in compliance with all State and Local regulations.

Drum disposal by Meyer gives customers a low cost, trouble-free method of meeting disposal laws plus peace-of-mind that the job is being done right.

As a member of RIPA, Meyer Drum is a participant in the Empty Drum Certification program which offers important record evidencing for the drum user and supplier alike.
